Michael Huffington is an American politician, film producer, and author who served one term as a Republican U.S. Representative from California from 1993 to 1995. He is widely known for his high-profile and expensive 1994 campaign for the U.S. Senate, which he narrowly lost to incumbent Dianne Feinstein. After his political career, Huffington publicly came out as bisexual and became an advocate for LGBTQ+ rights and other progressive causes. He was formerly married to Arianna Huffington, co-founder of The Huffington Post, and has produced several films exploring spirituality and social issues.
