Frank Buchman

Religious Leader

Frank Nathan Daniel Buchman was an American Protestant evangelist who founded the spiritual movement known as the Oxford Group. His work focused on moral and spiritual change through what he called the 'Four Absolutes': absolute honesty, absolute purity, absolute unselfishness, and absolute love. The Oxford Group gained significant influence in the 1920s and 1930s and was a precursor to Alcoholics Anonymous, which adopted some of its principles. After World War II, he launched Moral Re-Armament (MRA), a global initiative aimed at post-war reconciliation and building a 'hate-free, fear-free, greed-free world.'
