Boris Trajkovski was a Macedonian politician who served as the second President of Macedonia from 1999 until his death in 2004. A Methodist lay preacher, he was known for his moderate political stance and efforts to bridge ethnic divides within his country. During his presidency, he played a crucial role in negotiating the Ohrid Agreement in 2001, which helped prevent a full-scale civil war. His presidency ended tragically when he was killed in a plane crash in Bosnia and Herzegovina while on his way to an international conference.
