Aron Ralston is an American mountaineer, adventurer, and motivational speaker. He is famously known for surviving a canyoneering accident in Utah in 2003, during which he had to amputate his own right arm to free himself from a boulder. His incredible story of survival is detailed in his autobiography, "Between a Rock and a Hard Place." The experience was also adapted into the critically acclaimed 2010 film "127 Hours," bringing his ordeal to a global audience.
