Yaphet Frederick Kotto was a prolific American actor known for his commanding presence and versatile performances across film, television, and stage. He gained international recognition for his role as the first major Black James Bond villain, Dr. Kananga/Mr. Big, in 'Live and Let Die'. Kotto is also celebrated for his memorable performances as technician Dennis Parker in the sci-fi horror classic 'Alien' and as Lieutenant Al Giardello in the acclaimed television series 'Homicide: Life on the Street'.
