Viktor Fedorovych Yanukovych is a Ukrainian politician who served as the fourth President of Ukraine from 2010 until he was ousted in the 2014 Ukrainian Revolution. His political career began as a regional governor before he became Prime Minister of Ukraine, a position he held on two separate occasions. Yanukovych's presidency was marked by closer ties with Russia and significant political turmoil, culminating in the Euromaidan protests. Following his removal from office by the Ukrainian parliament, he fled to Russia, where he has since lived in exile.
