Renée Vivien, born Pauline Mary Tarn, was a British poet who wrote in the French language. She was a prominent figure in the Belle Époque Parisian literary scene, known for her Symbolist style and classical scholarship. Her work often explored themes of love, despair, and mythology, openly celebrating love between women. Despite a tragically short life, Vivien left behind a significant body of work that has been rediscovered and celebrated for its contribution to LGBTQ+ literature.
