Levi Eshkol was a prominent Israeli statesman who served as the third Prime Minister of Israel from 1963 until his death in 1969. Born in the Russian Empire, he immigrated to Ottoman Palestine in 1914 and became deeply involved in the Zionist movement and the development of the Yishuv. Before his premiership, he held several key cabinet positions, most notably as Minister of Finance, where he was instrumental in shaping Israel's economy. His tenure as Prime Minister is most remembered for overseeing Israel's victory in the Six-Day War of 1967 and for establishing diplomatic relations with West Germany.
