Laurel Clark

Astronaut

Laurel Clark was an American NASA astronaut, medical doctor, and a Captain in the United States Navy. She was selected by NASA in 1996 and served as a mission specialist on STS-107, her only spaceflight. Aboard the Space Shuttle Columbia, she conducted various microgravity experiments, spending over 15 days in space. Tragically, Clark and her six crewmates perished when the Columbia disintegrated upon re-entry into the Earth's atmosphere on February 1, 2003.
