Judd Gregg is an American politician and lawyer who served as the 76th Governor of New Hampshire and as a United States Senator from New Hampshire. A member of the Republican Party, he began his political career in the U.S. House of Representatives before being elected governor in 1988. During his time in the Senate, he was known as a fiscal conservative, serving as chairman of the Senate Budget Committee. After retiring from the Senate in 2011, he has remained involved in public policy and business, serving on various boards and as a commentator.
