Known for his catchphrase 'Hi Boys and Girls, I'm Jimmy Carl Black, and I'm the Indian of the group,' he played on many of the band's classic 1960s albums. After his time with Frank Zappa, he continued his musical career with various other bands and solo projects. Black remained a beloved and respected figure in the music world until his death in 2008.
