Erich Wolfgang Korngold was an Austrian-born composer and conductor who became a naturalized United States citizen. A child prodigy, he became one of the most important and influential composers in the history of Hollywood, known for his lush, romantic scores. His film scores for "Anthony Adverse" (1936) and "The Adventures of Robin Hood" (1938) both won Academy Awards, establishing the grand symphonic style of Hollywood's Golden Age.
