Buddy Guy

“I learned from the best, you know: B.B. King, T-Bone Walker, Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf.”

“I listen to a little bit of everything. I'm a musician, so I do that.”

“The first time I heard the blues, it was like a prayer.”

“If you don't think you have the blues, just keep living.”

“Heaven is lying in bed with my guitar and a Fender amp.”

“They say the blues is sad, but when B.B. King sings 'I got a sweet little angel,' I want to go out and find me one.”

“I was born to play the guitar. I’ve been trying to play the guitar since I was 6 or 7 years old.”

“Don't be the best in town. Just be the best 'til the best come around.”

“The blues are the roots and the other musics are the fruits.”

“I've never missed a gig yet. Music makes people happy, and that's why I go on doing it.”

“I just go out and play what I feel.”

“You can't learn the blues; you have to feel the blues.”

“I think the blues will always be around. People need it.”

“I just want to make sure that the blues is passed on.”

“I worry about the blues, because I don't think it's taught enough in the schools.”
