“When I was in high school, I was a very poor basketball player.”

“The basketball court for me, during a game, is the most peaceful place I can imagine. On the basketball court, I worry about nothing. When I'm out there, no one can bother me.”

“In the last analysis, you can't be any better than what you are.”

“I always tried to be a good sport. I'm not a good loser. I'm a terrible loser.”

“I learned to get in there and rebound, and I was not a good rebounder. I had to learn. I was not a good defensive player, but I played defense.”

“The motivation for me is just the game itself, just playing the game the right way and trying to win, compete every time I step out on the floor.”
