Politician

Béla Kun was a Hungarian communist revolutionary and politician who de facto led the Hungarian Soviet Republic in 1919. As People's Commissar for Foreign Affairs, he was the dominant personality in the short-lived revolutionary government. After the republic's overthrow, Kun fled to the Soviet Union where he worked as a functionary in the Communist International. He was later arrested and executed during Joseph Stalin's Great Purge in the late 1930s.
