Ahmed Chalabi

Politician

Ahmed Chalabi was an influential and controversial Iraqi politician who founded the Iraqi National Congress (INC). He was a leading figure among the Iraqi opposition in exile and played a key role in advocating for the 2003 US-led invasion of Iraq. Chalabi's intelligence reports on weapons of mass destruction, which were later discredited, heavily influenced the decision-making process leading to the war. After the invasion, he held several high-profile positions in the new Iraqi government, including Deputy Prime Minister, before his death in 2015.
