Statesman

Walther Rathenau was a prominent German industrialist, writer, and liberal politician during the German Empire and the Weimar Republic. As the son of AEG founder Emil Rathenau, he played a crucial role in Germany's war economy during World War I by organizing the supply of raw materials. After the war, he served as Minister of Reconstruction and later as Foreign Minister, advocating for cooperation with Western powers to fulfill Germany's obligations. His political career was tragically cut short when he was assassinated by right-wing extremist terrorists in June 1922.
