Thomas Tusser was a 16th-century English poet and agriculturalist, best known for his instructional poem, 'A Hundreth Good Pointes of Husbandrie.' Born in Rivenhall, Essex, he studied at Eton College and Cambridge before serving as a musician and courtier. His work, later expanded into 'Five Hundreth Pointes of Good Husbandrie,' provides a detailed rhyming guide to the farming year and domestic life in Tudor England. Despite the practical wisdom in his writing, Tusser struggled financially throughout his life, working as a farmer, singer, and chorister before dying in a London debtor's prison.
