Scott Ritter is a former U.S. Marine Corps intelligence officer and United Nations Special Commission (UNSCOM) weapons inspector in Iraq from 1991 to 1998. He gained international prominence for his role in monitoring Iraq's disarmament and his later vocal criticism of U.S. foreign policy. Following his resignation from UNSCOM, Ritter became a leading voice questioning the official justifications for the 2003 invasion of Iraq. He has since authored several books and works as a commentator and analyst on international security, military affairs, and geopolitics.
