Author

Richard Henry Horne was an English poet, critic, and author, best known for his epic poem 'Orion.' Born in London, he led an adventurous early life, serving in the Mexican Navy before settling into a literary career in England. A prominent figure in Victorian literary circles, he was a friend and correspondent of Elizabeth Barrett Browning and contributed to numerous periodicals. Despite the initial success of 'Orion,' which he famously sold for a farthing, much of his later life was spent in relative obscurity in Australia before he returned to England.
