Morris Graves

Morris Graves was an influential American painter and a prominent member of the Northwest School of artists. Deeply influenced by Eastern philosophy and Zen Buddhism, his work often featured mystical and symbolic depictions of birds, animals, and natural elements. He gained national recognition after his work was featured in a 1942 exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Graves spent much of his life seeking solitude and spiritual connection, living in various remote locations which profoundly shaped his unique artistic vision.
