Margaret Chan Fung Fu-chun is a distinguished Chinese public health physician who served as the Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO) from 2007 to 2017. Before her tenure at the WHO, she was the Director of Health in the Hong Kong Government, where she managed the 2003 SARS outbreak. As Director-General, she oversaw global responses to major health crises, including the H1N1 influenza pandemic and the Ebola virus epidemic in West Africa.
