Malcolm Boyd was a prominent American Episcopal priest, author, and activist known for his outspoken engagement with social justice issues. Initially working in Hollywood, he later became a priest and a significant figure in the Civil Rights Movement during the 1960s. Boyd was a pioneering advocate for LGBTQ+ rights within the church and publicly came out as gay in 1976. Throughout his life, he authored over 30 books, including the bestselling prayer book 'Are You Running with Me, Jesus?', which connected faith with contemporary life and culture.
