Leopold Trepper was a Polish communist and a Soviet intelligence agent of Polish-Jewish descent. He is renowned as the organizer and leader of the Red Orchestra, a sophisticated anti-Nazi espionage network that operated in German-occupied Europe during World War II. After the war, his relationship with Soviet authorities soured, leading to his imprisonment for ten years. He later immigrated to Israel, where he published his memoirs, "The Great Game," detailing his extraordinary life as a spymaster.
