Leonard Warren was a celebrated American operatic baritone, widely regarded as one of the leading Verdi baritones of his era. He made his debut at the Metropolitan Opera in New York in 1939 and remained a principal artist there until his death. His powerful voice, dramatic intensity, and commanding stage presence made him a favorite among audiences for roles like Rigoletto, Count di Luna, and Scarpia. Warren's career was tragically cut short when he collapsed and died on the Met stage during a performance of Verdi's 'La forza del destino' in 1960.
