John Edward Sexton is a prominent American legal scholar and academic administrator. He served as the fifteenth President of New York University from 2002 to 2015, overseeing a period of significant global expansion. Before his presidency, he was the Dean of the NYU School of Law, where he is also the Benjamin F. Butler Professor of Law. Sexton is widely recognized for his work in legal education and for championing the concept of the global network university.
