John Jay was an American statesman, patriot, diplomat, and one of the Founding Fathers of the United States. He served as the second governor of New York and was the first Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court. A key negotiator of the Treaty of Paris, Jay also co-authored The Federalist Papers with Alexander Hamilton and James Madison.
