John Richard Deacon is a retired English musician, best known as the bassist for the legendary rock band Queen. He composed several of the band's biggest hits, including 'Another One Bites the Dust,' 'I Want to Break Free,' and 'You're My Best Friend.' Deacon was the last member to join Queen in 1971 and was also the youngest. After the death of frontman Freddie Mercury and a final performance in 1997, he retired from the music industry to live a private life.
