Joseph Steven Sakic is a Canadian professional ice hockey executive and former player. He played his entire 21-year National Hockey League career with the Quebec Nordiques/Colorado Avalanche franchise. Sakic captained the Avalanche to two Stanley Cup championships and is regarded as one of the greatest players and leaders in the history of the sport. Inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2012, he now serves as the President of Hockey Operations for the Avalanche, leading them to another Stanley Cup in 2022.
