Jim Garrison was an American lawyer and judge who served as the District Attorney of Orleans Parish, Louisiana, from 1962 to 1973. He is best known for his aggressive and controversial investigation into the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. Garrison's inquiry led to the arrest and trial of New Orleans businessman Clay Shaw, the only person ever prosecuted in connection with the assassination. Although Shaw was acquitted, Garrison's theories and findings continue to fuel debate and conspiracy theories surrounding the event.
