Jason Giambi is a former American professional baseball first baseman and designated hitter. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Oakland Athletics, New York Yankees, Colorado Rockies, and Cleveland Indians from 1995 to 2014. A five-time All-Star, he was named the American League Most Valuable Player in 2000 while with the Athletics. Giambi was also a central figure in the BALCO steroid scandal and publicly apologized for his use of performance-enhancing drugs.
