Jane Heap was an influential American publisher, editor, and key figure in the modernist movement. Alongside Margaret Anderson, she co-founded and edited The Little Review, a seminal avant-garde magazine. The publication was famously prosecuted on obscenity charges for serializing James Joyce's groundbreaking novel, Ulysses. After the magazine ceased publication, Heap moved to London and became a student and teacher of G. I. Gurdjieff's spiritual system.
