Jan Berry was an American musician who was a co-founder, singer, and songwriter of the surf rock duo Jan and Dean. Alongside Dean Torrence, he achieved significant success in the 1960s with a string of hits that defined the California Sound. His career was tragically interrupted by a near-fatal car accident in 1966, which left him with brain damage and partial paralysis. Despite his injuries, Berry demonstrated remarkable resilience, continuing to record and perform music for many years until his death in 2004.
