Hesiod

Poet

Hesiod was one of the earliest known Greek poets, often considered a contemporary of Homer during the 8th century BC. He is best known for two major epic poems, the Theogony and the Works and Days. The Theogony provides a systematic account of the origins of the gods and the cosmos, becoming a foundational text in Greek mythology. His other major work, Works and Days, offers moral and practical advice on agriculture, justice, and life, reflecting the experiences of a farmer in ancient Boeotia.
