Dr. Gene Scott was an American pastor and televangelist known for his unconventional and often marathon-length broadcasts. He became the pastor of the Faith Center in Glendale, California, in 1975, and built a worldwide ministry through television and later the internet. Scott held a Ph.D. from Stanford University and was recognized for his scholarly approach to teaching the Bible, often appearing with a cigar and a trademark hat. His direct and sometimes confrontational style attracted a loyal following who supported his ministry, which he led until his death in 2005.
