Émile Jamil Lahoud served as the 11th President of Lebanon from 1998 to 2007. Before his presidency, Lahoud had a distinguished career in the Lebanese Armed Forces, eventually becoming its Commander-in-Chief. His tenure as president was marked by significant political events, including the withdrawal of Israeli troops from Southern Lebanon and the assassination of Prime Minister Rafic Hariri.
