Earl Campbell, nicknamed "The Tyler Rose," was a dominant American football running back known for his punishing and aggressive running style. He won the Heisman Trophy in 1977 while at the University of Texas and was the first overall pick in the 1978 NFL Draft by the Houston Oilers. Campbell led the league in rushing yards in each of his first three seasons and was named the NFL's Most Valuable Player in 1979. His powerful career, though shortened by injuries, earned him an induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1991.
