Christine Todd Whitman is an American Republican politician and author who served as the 50th Governor of New Jersey from 1994 to 2001. Following her governorship, she was appointed by President George W. Bush to be the Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency, a role she held from 2001 to 2003. Known as a moderate Republican, she has often been a vocal critic of more conservative factions within her party, particularly on environmental and social issues. After leaving public office, she founded the Whitman Strategy Group, a consulting firm, and has remained active in public discourse.
