Carl Owen Hubbell, nicknamed 'The Meal Ticket' and 'King Carl,' was an American professional baseball player. He played his entire 16-year major league career as a left-handed pitcher for the New York Giants. Hubbell was known for his mastery of the screwball and was a two-time National League Most Valuable Player. Elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1947, he is remembered as one of the greatest pitchers in baseball history.
