William 'Bill' Weld is an American attorney, author, and politician who famously served as the 68th Governor of Massachusetts. A moderate Republican, he was elected governor in 1990 and re-elected in 1994 with a record-setting margin of victory. After his governorship, Weld pursued various roles in the private sector and later re-entered politics on the national stage. He was the Libertarian Party's nominee for Vice President in 2016 and briefly sought the Republican presidential nomination in 2020.
