Arthur William Symons was a British poet, critic, and magazine editor, instrumental in introducing French Symbolism to London. A member of the Rhymers' Club, he was closely associated with figures like W. B. Yeats and Aubrey Beardsley. His critical works, such as 'The Symbolist Movement in Literature,' had a profound influence on modernism, particularly on Yeats and T. S. Eliot. After suffering a severe mental breakdown in 1908, his literary output diminished, though he continued to write and publish for the rest of his life.
