Anthony Wayne was a prominent United States Army officer, statesman, and member of the U.S. House of Representatives. He began his military career at the outset of the American Revolutionary War, where his military exploits and fiery personality earned him the nickname 'Mad Anthony.' Wayne's most celebrated victory was at the Battle of Stony Point in 1779, a daring nighttime assault on a British fort. After the war, he continued his service, leading the Legion of the United States to a decisive victory at the Battle of Fallen Timbers.
