Andrew Eldritch is the frontman, singer, and principal songwriter for the British gothic rock band The Sisters of Mercy. Born Andrew William Harvey Taylor, he co-founded the band in Leeds in 1980 and remains its only constant member. Eldritch is renowned for his distinctive deep, melancholic baritone voice and his intellectual, often cryptic, lyrics. Despite the band's influential status, they have not released a new studio album since 1990, though they continue to tour and perform new material.
