Albert Speer

Architect

Albert Speer was a German architect who served as the chief architect for Nazi Germany before becoming the Minister of Armaments and War Production for the Third Reich. He was a close ally of Adolf Hitler and was responsible for designing monumental structures, including the Reich Chancellery and the Nazi party rally grounds in Nuremberg. After the war, he was convicted of war crimes and crimes against humanity at the Nuremberg trials, ultimately serving a 20-year prison sentence. His memoirs, 'Inside the Third Reich,' offered a unique and controversial perspective from within the Nazi regime's inner circle, for which he cultivated an image as 'the Nazi who said sorry'.
