Al Capone

Gangster

Alphonse Gabriel 'Al' Capone was an American gangster and businessman who attained notoriety during the Prohibition era as the co-founder and boss of the Chicago Outfit. His seven-year reign as a crime boss ended when he was convicted on federal charges of tax evasion at the age of 33. Though known for brutality and his involvement in organized crime, he cultivated a public image as a modern-day Robin Hood. After his release from Alcatraz, Capone's health deteriorated from neurosyphilis, and he died from a stroke and pneumonia in 1947.
